St. Denis Parish History

Our Beginning.

St. Denis Catholic Church began with six families in 1958. The idea came into being when Chief S.O. Adenuga met Rev. Fr. D. J. Slattery at St. Paul’s Catholic School Ebute-Metta, Lagos; where he was a junior Principal of the school. The school had twenty classrooms of which Rev. Fr. D. J. Slattery used four classrooms to start St. Finbarr’s College.

100 Years of Fatima Celebration.

our Lady of Fatima

In the years 1916 and 1917, through the tutelage of an angel and the Blessed Mother, two young children were led to holiness in just a few short years. That tutoring began in the spring of 1916 with three visitations of the Guardian Angel of Portugal, apparitions which served as preparation for the visits the following year of the Mother of God.

Family Week Celebration.

Happy moment

The family week celebration was held on Sunday May 21st, 2017. The event beign organised by the Catholic Couples for Christ was greeted with loud participation of families. It feature cooking competition among men, couples game, etc.
